My name is Dawn and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Supervisor, working with adults and young people face-to-face in Letchworth ( click here for details Location) and online.

I have had a varied career but throughout, and in all areas of my life, people seemed to find it easy to talk to me. A while back now, I decided that it was time for me to follow my heart and learn how to listen professionally.

Like most, I have had traumas in my life which I believe enable me to fully empathise with many issues that people face. I have sat ‘the other side of the couch’ as it were and so I know how daunting and uncomfortable it can be to open up about difficult experiences and feelings. However, I also know how freeing it is when you come out the other side!

My experience
I have experience of working with individual clients with a variety of issues including, amongst others: anxiety, depression, stress, relationship or work issues, loss, childhood trauma, intrusive thoughts. I am autism-informed and an LGBTQIA+ ally.

How I work
At our first session I will get more background from you to get a real sense of who you are. We will discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you want from it and how we can best work together to achieve that.

As an integrative counsellor I draw on a variety of skills from various approaches which enables me to tailor each session to your needs – always working at your pace and focussing on your goals. These therapeutic approaches include person-centred (working in the here and now), psychodynamic (looking at previous history and patterns of behaviour), humanistic (considering your individual potential) and existential (working on future fears or goals).

Training / Qualifications
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) so you can be assured that I work to the highest standards of proficiency and ethical practice. I participate in regular training & workshops to keep my knowledge up-to-date.

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (4 year’s training) and hold the Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Supervision.
